Blaenavon World Heritage Environmental Group
Bat & Nocturnal Bird Evening. Sat 14th July 2018 starting at 9:15pm. Look and listen for the mysterious Nightjars emerging from the woods to hunt over the moor, as well as owls and other birds. Suitable for all, the event will involve a little walking on the road.
“Canada Tip Bioblitz” Sat 28th July 10:00am. The Canada Tips are the result of indiscriminate opencast coal mining. Areas of bare shale spoil are gradually being reclaimed by wildlife but little has been recorded about what is actually there. Join us and share in finding the unexpected!
"Garn y Gorfydd" guided walk. 28th July 2018 at 2:00pm. A short circular walk of about 4 km (2½ miles), starting from the Foxhunter Car Park, we will be skirting Mynydd y Garn Fawr and descending to visit the woodlands of Nant Llanelen. Further information:

Come and enjoy our Steampunk weekend at Blaenavon Ironworks!
Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th July – 10am – 5pm – Free admission This is a Steampunk themed event looking at the influence of Victorian style on the modern world. Today's technology in Victorian style tells the story of industry through fun and games, music and fashion, art, comedy and good Victorian manners. Enjoy tea duelling and the Steampunk Olympics, as well as talks, rapping, demonstrations and craft stalls.
