The sky will be a bit darker on 20 March around 8:30 am because of a solar eclipse, the first visible in the mainland UK since 2011. About 95% of the sun will be covered by the moon! Brecon Beacons happens to have some wonderful locations for viewing it. Here are some of our favourites:
Usk Reservoir- This location is easily accessible and has plenty of flat space that allows for the setup of telescopes. Once you're done viewing, settle in for a picnic with your family and friends as you look over the vast Usk landscapes.
Hay Bluff - This hill overlooks the Wye Valley and has spectacular views to the distant north-west.
3. Llangorse Lake - Another highly accessible area, this beautiful site has a lot of space to set up telescopes and is near an outdoor pursuits centre if you'd like to do some activities during the remainder of your day.

But remember to be careful of your eyes!
