Sunday 2nd April-Tenovus Cancer Care 10k Run at The National Botanic Gardens of Wales
The Tenovus Cancer Care 10k is now in its 5th year at the spectacular National Botanic Garden of Wales. With steady inclines and mixed terrain, there is no doubt that this is one of the most beautiful yet enjoyable 10k races in Wales.
And if you want to run with your colleagues and challenge other businesses, Tenovus have a Corporate Challenge entry, with registration for teams of between 4 and 6 runners.
For those not quite ready for the 10k, the popular 5k run is back for its second year!
For more information, including how to register see the Tenovus website here or contact events@tenovuscancercare.org.uk With entry costing just £12, it’s a great way to get your blood pumping and see one of Wales’s best attractions. The race will start at 11am, with check-ins available from 8am.
Come and watch!Supporters and spectators will get half price entry to the Botanic Gardens, and it’s sure to be a great fun day out for all those who come to cheer you on!

5th April- Brecon Beacons Foraging
It’s Spring! The hedgerows, woods and lanes of the Brecon Beacons are shaking off their winter slumber and bursting into life. A Spring forage is all about leaves, flowers, buds and shoots, as well as the joy of getting out into the open after the dark months of Winter.

7th April- Get Creative Weekend - Heart of Wales
To celebrate the launch of the Get Creative Weekend, April 7-9, Theatr Brycheiniog have teamed up with award winning dance and installation artist Phil Williams for a spectacular interactive project that will transform Pen Y Fan into one of Wales’s largest living art installation, Friday April 7. With around 500 participants expected to take part, this unique project will kick off this year’s bumper weekend to celebrate the nation’s creativity. It gives people across Wales an opportunity to try something, make something and get creative. More info here.
8th April-Craft Fair in Clarence Hall
This event runs on 8 Apr 2017- 10:00am to 4:00pm

This 2 day course is ideal for beginners and for refreshing dormant skills; you’ll learn useful navigation and mountain safety techniques. This NNAS accredited course is run by Manzoku, a local company based in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Price: £115 per person ~ spaces limited.

9th-11th April- Family Dance Festival at Theatr Brycheiniog
A partnership project between Coreo Cymru, Chapter and National Dance Company Wales We are delighted to be presenting a selection of Wales’ most exciting dance companies during the Easter holidays. In an entertaining and jam-packed one-hour programme, you’ll get to see four short pop-up dance pieces, including the award winning National Dance Company Wales’ new work Animatorium which premiered at Green Man Festival 2016. Join us outside the Theatre by the Canal. The event is free and suitable for all ages. Bring your little ones and watch their eyes light up as they witness amazing dancers twisting & turning, sliding & tumbling!

15th and 26th of April – Lambing on an Organic Farm
This ‘day in the life’ of an organic sheep farmer in the Brecon Beacons will take the whole family through a range of exciting daily tasks, from helping to mark and move ewes and lambs to collecting free range eggs to take home and of course, plenty of time to feed lambs! A tasty homemade lunch is included; the rest of the day is then free to walk around the farm and enjoy its stunning views.
£40 or £25 children

16th, 23rd and 30th April – Sheep Trekking –A unique chance to go sheep trekking in the Brecon Beacons National Park! Good Day Out has teamed up with Aberhyddnant Farm to create a completely new concept, which is more native than Llama Trekking and more fun than your average walk in the hills. Each sheep is fitted with its own little halter, and you will choose your own sheep from a small flock of especially trained Jacobs. He will then lead you along a scenic trek on that takes you towards the Black Mountain with scenic views towards Pen y Fan. The undated vouchers make a great present!

18th April-1st May-Encountering Beauty - Meg Stevens Landscape Art Exhibition
The first exhibition in the series spanning over a year of the beautiful landscape paintings of Meg Stevens. The stunning location of Treberfydd House, by Llangorse Lake in the Brecon Beacons, marks the beginning of the series of retrospectives celebrating her work, and coincides with open house & gardens. This gives an ideal opportunity to see Meg’s beautiful paintings which are renowned for their atmospheric and detailed scenes, particularly focusing on grasses and the changing seasons, plus also displaying her beautiful floral work.

22nd-23rd April- Wonderwool Wales 2017
A celebration of Welsh wool and natural fibres, the Wonderwool Wales festival is a must for wool and yarn enthusiasts as well as those keen to learn and develop their skills or simply shoppers with a keen eye for quality crafts and innovative design. Details: www.wonderwoolwales.co.uk

28th April-1st May-Talgarth Walking Festival
We will be delighted to welcome you to Talgarth's fifth Walking Festival which is scheduled to take place from Friday 28th April to Monday 1st May 2017.The ancient market town of Talgarth is an ideal base for visitors wishing to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park on foot, particularly as it forms the "Gateway to the Black Mountains".
We offer visitors a taste of our town and the wonderful walking opportunities we have on our doorstep. Big Pit – FREE ENTRY – With free entry, Big Pit is a must-see for South Wales. With facilities to educate and entertain all ages, Big Pit is an exciting and informative day out. The Museum is set in a unique industrial landscape, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000 in recognition of its international importance to the process of industrialisation through iron and coal production.
