The Level Crossing Community Interest Company operates a hostel, a B&B, a bar and a Bistro in the same building, and although it has only been open 6 months, it has already caused quite a stir!

TLC aims to attract business from outside the region to come and appreciate the wide variety of activities and scenery that the country has to offer and have already played host to visiting rugby teams, foreign and Uk tourists and even a film crew from Belgium! Members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme, they are invested in protecting the environment and have made an electric car and several electric bikes available for public use from their Llandovery base and are part of the Eco Travel Network.

The company aims to provide jobs and training for Llandovery residents; staff have been recruited from the town and several local 6th formers benefitting from hands-on experience in catering and hospitality. Young residents looking to kick-start their CV’s are encouraged to volunteer for a few hours a week to gain some valuable experience in the industry.

Selected as finalists in ‘The most exciting new business’ and also the ‘Community Tourism’ categories of the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards, the tension is building for The Level Crossing as they wait to learn their fate at the award ceremony on November 14th!
