Henryhd Falls, which doubles as the Batcave, Batman's lair in the blockbuster film The Dark Knight Rises, has been made more accessible to visitors.
The 88 foot tall waterfall, as well as the Nant Llech Trail, became a popular destination for movie buffs and curious visitors, but wasn't exactly the easiest attraction to get up close and personal with.A series of steps and a 40 metre boardwalk have been installed to protect the unique are meadow habitat, and the two stiles on the route from Ynswen to Henrhyd have been replaced with galvanised self-closing gates. Soon to come are four audio panels with seating areas for visitors to listen to recordings from experts on geology and botany and local residents.
Says Warden Manager for Brecon Beacons National Park Authority Judith Harvey, "With work now complete, it means that people for many generations to come can really enjoy what Abercraf and the surrounding area has to offer, safe in the knowledge that they are not causing any damage to the SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest)."
This project could not have been completed without generous donations from the Welsh Government.
