Talgarth's Sixth Walking Festival

By j.bell on 05/04/2018

Friday 4th - Monday 7th May 2018

Talgarth 'Walkers are Welcome Group' is delighted to welcome you to Talgarth’s Sixth Walking Festival. The ancient market town of Talgarth is an ideal base for visitors wishing to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park on foot, particularly as it forms the “Gateway to the Black Mountains”. We offer visitors a taste of our town and the wonderful walking opportunities we have on our doorstep. We hope that you thoroughly enjoy your experience with us and return to our town in the near future.

We look forward to seeing you at the Festival over the first May Bank Holiday Weekend!

Programme Overview

Our programme includes a variety of walks and events for all ages, from full day walks to town walks, lasting a little over an hour. Our opening event is a talk by Horatio Clare based on his autobiography “Running for the Hills” describing his childhood on a farm in the Black Mountains. On Saturday evening we will be showing the film “Eagle Huntress”.

The Festival Hub will be based at Talgarth Town Hall Committee Room. It will be the place to check out late availability on walks, meet off duty walk leaders, and catch up with friends old and new.
