Success for the Brecon Beacons at the National Tourism Awards!

abergavennyfoodfestivalmarkethall1What a fantastic night it was for local Brecon Beacons businesses at last night's National Tourism Awards for Wales 2013!

The awards, which have been specifically designed to showcase the very best that Welsh tourism has to offer, saw numerous local businesses come out on top of their respective categories.

Firstly, the famous Abergavenny Food Festival picked up the award for the 'Best Event' category, beating World Alternative Games and Always Aim High Events. Founded back in 1999, the event has been showcasing the best that British produce has to offer for nearly 15 years.

Regional Tourism Awards were also presented to both the National Showcaves and the Welsh Whisky Company for proving that they’re able to demonstrate quality, customer care, sense of place and give visitors a unique experience while in the Brecon Beacons.

A little further afield, the Bell at Skenfrith was crowned winner of the 'Best Pub to Eat In' category, while Gordon Green at Green Events ltd picked up the 'Outstanding Achievement Award' for having brought a world of wacky, weird and wonderful outdoor activities to Llanwrtyd Wells over the last thirty years.

The final Brecon Beacons winner was glamping favourites Cosy Under the Canvas who offer 'glamping with a bit of difference' won the "Best Place to Stay, Alternative Accommodation" award.

 A huge well done to all last night's winners!
