Brecon is alive with music this weekend, not only is the jazz festival turning the streets of the town into one of the biggest and best street parties in Wales, the Brecon Fringe Festival is helping to turn the entire town into one of the biggest ever musical hubs ever.  With over 35 pubs and venues participating in the fringe festival, this weekend will see the town potentially overdosing on music!  So come on down to Brecon and join the party!

Here's our quick insight guide to a fabulous weekend of music in Brecon with the Fringe Festival! There’s so much going on you’ll have trouble fitting it all in...

Here are our top picks:

On Friday at 3.30pm 'Hershel's Barn' will be treating The Hours guests to rousing, foot-stomping Hillbilly music to get the fabulous Fringe weekend started. Later in the evening Megan Grubb will be soothing us with her soulful voice at 7.00pm in The Lounge then finishing the day with a bang will be Maddie and the Pandas, a 7 piece Dance band.

On the Saturday at 3pm Caroline Harrison’s soulful nostalgic Acoustic Folk-Pop will be the perfect way to wile away an hour on an August afternoon. Later on don’t miss Ragsy from The Voice in The George Hotel at 4pm, ready to make Sir Tom Jones proud. But it doesn’t stop there with DJ Neily B spinning decks until the early hours at the Markets Tavern.

We’ll be sad to see the festival ending on Sunday but some unmissable acts include Big Mac’s Wholly Soul Band at the George Hotel at 6pm, followed by Cliff Price & Ian Cooper at The Hours at 7pm. These fingerstyle accoustic guitarist and bassist who conjure wonderful renditions of jazz, country and classic rock will bring you a festival closer to remember...
