Two November workshops celebrating handmade craft, natural materials and festive inspiration

This November, The Felin Fach Griffin invites guests to slow down, savour the season, and reconnect with creativity. Set between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye, this much-loved country inn — and proud member of Brecon Beacons Tourism — is hosting two relaxed, hands-on workshops led by local craftspeople, each designed to capture the calm beauty of winter and the pleasure of making something by hand.

On Thursday 20 November, Emma from Woven Earth Studio leads a Needle Felt Robin Workshop, guiding guests through the process of creating their own festive robin using natural, hand-dyed fleece. Suitable for all levels, it’s the perfect opportunity to explore a mindful, tactile craft in a warm and welcoming setting.

A week later, on Wednesday 26 November, Anna Stickland Weaving leads a Willow Wreath Workshop, teaching traditional techniques to craft your own natural wreath using locally gathered materials. Each piece will be beautifully individual — shaped by the maker’s hands and inspired by the Welsh landscape that surrounds The Griffin.

Both sessions include all materials, expert guidance, and a two-course seasonal lunch prepared by The Felin Fach Griffin’s kitchen, which celebrates simple, locally sourced food. Guests can expect a gentle pace, good conversation, and time well spent in the company of like-minded makers.
