Rose lovers from Powys and Herefordshire who would like to learn more about the flowers are invited to a garden centre in the area to receive free expert advice! On Saturday, August 10th, the Old Railway Line Garden Centre will be hosting a Rose Day from 10am until 4pm.
Katie Cleary, Shop Manager at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre, said:“British gardens are famed for being full of beautiful roses so we thought it would be a good idea to host a day dedicated to the flowers so people can learn more about them.”
Roses have all sorts of interesting links with romance, it’s even been said by some horticulturalists that the secret of maintaining a good relationship may be having a vase of roses!
“Anyone hoping to grow their own roses in their garden at home can get expert advice from us on selecting, planting and caring for roses.” Katie continued, “As well as free advice on planting and growing roses, we will also have a large selection available for people to purchase on the day including Gertude Jekyll, Tess of D’Uberville and Zephrine Drouhin.”
The award-winning, independent family-run garden centre was established in 1990 by owners, Mark and Christina Cleary. It provides customers with a wide range of quality plants, indoor and outdoor living goods, gardening equipment, pet care products, giftware and furniture.
