There are so many ways to show your dear old Mum how much she means to you on this special day in the Brecon Beacons.
Here are a few ideas for all types of budgets that are sure to put a smile on her face.
Afternoon tea…
…at The Angel
We thought we’d start with something traditional - you can never go wrong with an old fashioned afternoon tea. As you only want the best for Mum on Mother’s Day treat her to their top notch afternoon tea which has held the ‘Award of Excellence’ since 2008. Only nine hotels outside of London have achieved this so it’s a bargain from £19.80.
…at the Gliffaes
For something slightly cheaper but still the highest quality, the Gliffaes’ buffet afternoon tea will not disappoint with rows of homemade sandwiches and cakes for £13.20. The views from the terrace on a sunny day aren’t bad either!
Pampering…
...at Peterstone Court
Their ‘Leap into Spring’ Spa Day package includes two or three 30 minute treatments, a two-course lunch, tea/coffees, robes and the full use of spa facilities. From just £67 per person!
…Nant Ddu Lodge
Their half day spa break includes 55 minutes of treatment of your choice, use of the swimming pool and leisure club facilities and £10.00 for lunch in the lovely conservatory from just £60 per person!
Dinner at one of the award-winning restaurants...
...The Felin Fach Griffin won ‘Dining Pub of the Year for Wales’ by The Good Pub Guide 2014,
...The Bell at Skenfrith won ‘Best Pub to Eat In’ at the Visit Wales Tourism Awards
...Llangoed Hall won AA Hotel of the Year, so booked up tables is not an excuse with all these to choose from!

Tickets to her festival of choice
Go one step further than buying her a new paperback and take her to see her favourite author at the Hay Literature Festival.
Or if she’s a folk fan why don’t you all chip in for a ticket for everyone to the Green Man festival - the UK’s most family friendly festival!
If you can’t quite stretch that, the Brecon Jazz festival have day tickets from only £25!
For presents keep it simple and local with chocolates from Black Mountain Gold, flowers from Love Lily or jewellery and a vintage treat from one of Hay-on-Wye’s many boutiques.

Or if you just want to spend quality time together, just you and Mum and the great outdoors, why not try one of our walks?
A healthy day out in the fresh air will make the most of the scenery which is a treat in itself, and you won’t need to spend a penny (except perhaps on a picnic.)
