THE TRIP: 

Reading retreats at By the Wye are a little bit different, think grown-up summer camp meets book club, with fun events, published authors, workshops, bookshop tours, and most importantly, time for attacking the to-be-read pile and shopping for even more books in Hay's 20+ independent bookshops.

1pm arrive and check in to your glamping accommodation

Free time to relax & read

5pm Welcome Dinner with author Jack Strange

 Pizza making with s'mores.

Book swap and talk about book-of-the-trip

THURSDAY

9am Bookshop breakfast at North Books

10am Walking tour of Hay's bookshops with Walk Hay

Lunch at Hay Castle

Free time for reading & shopping

7pm Movie night in Gay on Wye bookshop

Tapas & cocktails

FRIDAY

Lazy lie-in for reading

10am Breakfast at The Cosy Cafe

11am Book journal workshop in Richard Booths Bookshop

1pm Leaving Lunch at The Granary

Goodie bag to take home filled with books & little luxuries

Cost

£495 per person based on two people sharing a safari tent with 

separate bedrooms and a shared bathroom.  

Group bookings can also be taken which alters the rates
