Living History & Combat Displays

Kick off in the re-enactment camps on Vauxhall Fields with the Freemen of Gwent – 15th-century mercenary soldiers – alongside the 12th-century Angevins, recreating crafts, camp life and living conditions

Witness skillful archery and dramatic sword-fighting, complete with interactive demos.

Falconry, Medicine & Costume Talks

Experienced falconers from Wye Valley Falconry bring birds of prey to life with flight displays and meet-the-birds session. Hear from the “Time Travelling Medicine Man” about medieval treatments and practical healthcare of the era. Experts also shed light on medieval garments, armour and weaponry—including the tools of knights

Interactive Activities & Music

Have fun folding paper into medieval-themed origami alongside Tony O’Hare of the British Origami Society.  Let Silvarum, medieval musicians, transport you through sound to the courts and camps of the past.

Historic Monmouth Unlocked

Unlock rarely opened halls: climb into Monnow Bridge Gatehouse, the only surviving fortified medieval river gate in Britain and delve into Monmouth Castle’s Great Tower. Inside the 300-year-old Shire Hall, view the intricate Henry V tapestry, an embroidered masterpiece worthy of it's saga.

Medieval Market & Film Night

Browse a bustling medieval-style market brimming with crafts, gifts and authentic foods.

Later, the charming Savoy Theatre screens A Knight’s Tale (£7, under-15s free), combining medieval adventure with cinematic flair.
