Heritage takes centre stage in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park this Saturday as Heneb: The Trust for Welsh Archaeology partners with the Brecon Beacons Park Society to present a full-day programme of talks, guided walks and displays at Henderson Hall, Talybont-on-Usk.
Running from 9.45am to 4.30pm on Saturday 4 October 2025, the event brings together leading voices in archaeology, conservation and heritage management from across mid and southeast Wales. Topics include conserving Tintern Abbey, medieval excavations at Cwmffwrn, the story of tramroads in the National Park, and the importance of Welsh place names.
Throughout the day, affiliated organisations will host pop-up displays and experts will be on hand to answer questions and inspire visitors to get more involved with the area’s rich heritage. A free guided walk led by the Brecon Beacons Park Society rounds off the programme at 4pm, exploring the Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal and Brinore Tramroad. Lunch and refreshments are provided, with parking available on site.
