When: Sunday 24 August, 2pm–8pm
Where: Hay Parish Hall
Entry: Pay what you can (suggested £5 per person) – everyone gets free cake
Benefitting: Save the Children & Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders
What’s happening
- Live music: chilled tunes from Ovi Sims.
- Food by Chapters: hot dishes on a pay-what-you-can basis, with vegan and gluten-free options.
- Bottle bar: stocked through community donations.
- Free kids’ activities: simple, low-key fun throughout the afternoon.
- Cake table + competition: drop off entries from 1pm; help yourself to a slice later.
This is a relaxed, welcoming social with communal tables for dining and space to chat or listen to music. Come along, meet neighbours, and help raise funds for two brilliant charities.
How you can help before the day
- Donate to the bottle bar (soft drinks welcome) – email to arrange drop-off.
- Contribute ingredients for the menu – gluts of garden veg especially useful.
- Bake something for the cake table (cakes, traybakes, cookies, muffins, biscuits).
- Cake rule: please no nuts.
- Volunteer on the day – door, food service, kids’ activities or face painting.
- Spread the word – ask for a poster and share with friends.
Why we’re doing it
We want to bring Hay together on Bank Holiday Sunday for good food, music and conversation, while raising money for Save the Children and Doctors Without Borders.
