Hay Festival Winter Weekend runs from 27-29 November.

Welcome to the 16th edition of the Hay Festival Winter Weekend and the start of advent in Hay. We look forward to welcoming you to a weekend of wondrous stories and roaring fires, great investigation, rigorous debate and great company. Join us at Hay Castle to share mulled ideas, entrancing music and all the riches of Hay.

Andrew Miller presents his new novel The Crossing, Fflur Dafydd discusses the film adaptation of her novel Y Llyfrgell (The Library) with the actress Catrin Stewart (Dr Who, Stella). Misha Glenny investigates gang culture in Rio. Bruce Robinson nails the identity of London's serial killer in They All Love Jack: Busting the Ripper. Phil Rickman introduces his new Merrily Watkins mystery Friends of the Dusk set in Hereford and talks about the ITV series of his Midwinter of the Spirit. Rob Penn is The Man who Made Things Out of Trees and writes about woodcraft and ancient skills.

FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS

Winter-201412We've a packed programme of workshops and events for teenagers including Linda Davies introducing her gripping medieval tale Longbow Girl, prize-winning Jenny Valentine's new novel Fire Colour One and Horatio Clare's Aubrey and the Terrible Yoot. Catherine Barr presents her new book for younger children Elliot's Arctic Surprise where we learn why it matters if the ice melts. Bring all the family for a weekend of workshops, puppet shows, creativity and great stories.
