Hay Festival Winter Weekend – eat, think (drink) and be merry!

Once a year is just not enough for the Hay Festival and all its fascinating guests, so this winter they’ve done it again. For three days the Welsh town of Hay on Wye will be transformed as hoards of bookworms come to listen to famous authors, politicians, lecturers, comedians along with some great live music.   Find the full weekend festival programme hereWinter-201408

The Winter Weekend starts on 27th November with the turning on of the Christmas lights at 7pm by the Head Teacher of Hay Primary School, Fiona Howard. The school and local choirs will sing before the ceremony begins. There will be mulled wine and mince pies, local shops selling Christmas treats, and a festival ticket stall - Find the full weekend festival programme here

During the Hay Festival Winter Weekend there is plenty to keep you and your family entertained.  Pop into Richard Booth's Book Shop on Saturday between 10am and 3pm for Christmas Crafts from robins to glittering garlands the book shop will be bursting with all kinds of fun and festive things to make and do. £2 donation.

On Saturday 28 November, Hay Food Festival will take place in Hay's Market Square with more than 40 local producers selling their best selection of festive cheeses, meats, drinks and sweet treats, you will find plenty of Christmas gifts for the food lovers in your family.  find out more here.

Beer REv

There will also be Beer and Cheese pairing at Hay’s independent craft beer shop, Beer Revolution on Saturday with Welsh brewery Celt Experience.

On Sunday 29 November, from 10.30 - 4pm, Hay Does Vintage will be in town with their ‘Vintage Wonder Town’ Fayre.
