There are eight golf courses in and around the Brecon Beacons National Park, including the 2010 Ryder Cup venue, Celtic Manor.

If you like to play golf with a stunning background of hills and mountains, the Brecon Beacons National Park makes an ideal base for your golfing break.

Cradoc Golf Club (www.cradoc.co.uk ), 2 miles north of Brecon, has 18 holes and a friendly clubhouse, and is possibly the most scenic course in Wales. Cradoc Golf Club is recognised as one of the finest parkland courses in Wales and is situated in the rural tranquillity of Penoyre Parkcradoc – just two miles away from the centre of Brecon. The Club offers a challenging yet enjoyable 18 hole golf course, enjoyed by a thriving membership of 400+ members and revered by thousands of visitors, many who return year after year citing ‘Cradoc’ as one of their favourite venues. The Club also has a 10 bay floodlit driving range which is open to non-members, alongside which is a short game area where any member of the public can access it FREE of charge 7 days per week. Brecon Golf Club (www.brecongolfclub.org.uk) Providing a challenging but fair test of golf for all levels from beginner to accomplished golfer. Brecon is a predominantly flat and easy walking course with excellent drainage and is therefore ideal for all levels of golfer young or old and all conditions. Whilst still providing a good challenge for the accomplished golfer.

Palleg Golf is an 18 hole course with a healthy par of 72. As expected of a par 72 course, there is a wide range of challenges to test golfers patience to the limit, such as short-ish par threes, long par fours and par fives. The Palleg Golf Club is deep in the heart of the Swansea Valley, a wonderful background for a game of golf.

Celtic Manor Resort (www.celtic-manor.com), 24 miles south of Abergavenny, has three championship golf courses and two golf and country clubs.
