Book your place on a guided walk through the magnificent trees at Gliffaes Country Hotel followed by an autumn themed lunch.

Two dates : Sunday 23rd & Sunday 30th October. Walk begins at 11am with lunch at 1pm.

The Walk:

Autumn is the best time of the year to explore the amazing trees within the 30 acres of grounds at the Hotel. A history of Gliffaes can be told through the various tree plantings that have taken place over the last three to four hundred years. Come and admire the splender and learn about some magnificent specimens and find out what we are doing to enhance and improve the wonderful collection of trees.

This is a very gentle walk of about an hour and a half over the lawns, through the fields and amongst the trees, all the while taking in the the  autumn colours, the views of the river Usk and the hills beyond . Mostlty flat, definitely not strenuous and suitable for almost anyone and well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Wear gum boots if it’s damp.

The Lunch:

Rather like our summer grills on the terrace we want this to be a jolly celebration of food, wine and conversation. I am going to try and seat everyone on two long tables with some ‘help-yourself-and-pass along-style’ dishes with ingredients from the garden reflecting Autumn and all it has to offer.  Red and white wine will be included.

Cost: £30 per head.
