Come on a foodie holiday to the Brecon Beacons and stay with Brecon Beacons Holiday Cottages.
Here are two Foodie activities to tempt you to book a trip:
A flour mill and bakery, Talgarth Mill is also home to a pretty riverside garden which is part of a working water mill. Step back in time for the day and become a traditional miller by learning how to make flour using the 200 year old water mill! Start off by carrying out necessary mill maintenance, then winnow some grain on Talgarth’s antique winnower. Milling gets started once you’ve walked up the garden and released the River Ellwye into the water mill. At the end of the morning you’ll have a bag or two or wholemeal flour to take home with you! If you choose to stay for the afternoon’s baking session, you’ll be treated to a ‘Miller’s lunch’ at the mill before getting started. Then you’ll head to ‘The Baker’s Table’, the on-site bakery, to learn the mysterious and precise art of baking.
A Milling morning - 10am - lunch time - just milling, with coffee and cake - £45 inc VAT
Milling and Baking - 10am - 4pm - milling and baking, finishing with a loaf of home-made bread to take away. A ‘Miller’s Lunch’ is provided - £125 inc VAT
