Flowers, Food & Rainbows: Llandovery Welcomes a Celebration of Pride, Performance and Produce

Saturday 2 August 2025 | 10am–6pm | Llandovery Market Square

Llandovery is set to burst into colour this weekend with Flowers, Food & Rainbows — a vibrant celebration of young Welsh talent, community pride and local produce taking over the historic Market Square on Saturday 2 August.

The day blends the warmth and creativity of the town’s monthly Farmers Market with an impressive programme of live performance, spoken word, art and family-friendly activities — all centred around inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Spotlight on the Soapbox Stage

From poetry and folk music to drag and ‘Popera’, the Soapbox Stage will showcase a stellar line-up of emerging artists from across Wales, including:

  • Liam J Edwards – non-binary vocalist and Popera innovator, headlining the event after viral success on Y Llais and standout performances at Pride Cymru 2025 and Pride North Wales
  • Ice Amour, Karen Brewer, Dan Axe, Andromeda Belle, Danny Tose, Alun Saunders and more

Performances run throughout the day from 10am to 6pm, with a Pride Cabaret at The King’s Head from 6pm onwards.

A Market Full of Flavour

Llandovery’s Farmers Market will be in full swing from 10am to 2pm, featuring some of the finest local producers and makers in Bannau Brycheiniog. Stalls include:

  • The Welsh Farm, Tegfan Farm, Bryngaer Goats Cheese, JAR’d Preserves, Mel Garreg Fechan Honey, Tasty Local Cakes, Doggie Delights Pawlicious
  • Mycobio Ltd, Black Mountain Itals, Spirit of Wales, Bryn Geifr Soaps, Silverstar Jewellery, and many more

Fresh flowers from Outbloom Flower Farm and Simany’s Flowers, pollinator-friendly plants from Ragged Robin Nursery, and locally made woodenware will add colour and craftsmanship to the stalls. There’ll also be plenty of street food from favourites like Helen Thomas and The West End Café.

Local Pride and Community Spirit

This inclusive event is a collaboration between Llandovery Farmers Market, Heart of Wales LGBTQ+, and Llandovery in Bloom — bringing together growers, artists and activists to celebrate identity, nature and place.

From 1.30pm, prizes will be awarded for this year’s Llandovery in Bloom competition, recognising some of the town’s most colourful and creative gardens. Councillor Dorothy Burgess will lead the awards in the square, joined by Hybu co-ordinators and judges.

There will also be craft making, bilingual poetry readings, and an appearance from Alun Saunders, writer of Curiad Coll, the Welsh adaptation of Netflix’s Heartstopper, from 12.30pm at The Bluebell.

Everyone Welcome

Llandovery Market Manager Raoul Bhambral sums up the event’s spirit:

“The market has always been friendly, inclusive and open to all — supporting Pride and young performers is simply a further step in that direction. We’re delighted to sponsor Liam J Edwards’ appearance and look forward to welcoming everyone this Saturday.”

Don’t miss this joyful day of celebration, creativity and community in the heart of Llandovery. Whether you’re visiting for the market, the music, or simply to soak up the colour and spirit of Pride — everyone is invited.
