Saturday 5 July 2025 | 10 am–4.30 pm | Monmouth (Vauxhall Fields, Monnow Bridge, Castle & Shire Hall)
Step back into medieval Monmouth—birthplace of Henry V—for a spectacular day of living history, falconry, archery, swordcraft, and hands-on crafts. Explore authentic re‑enactment camps featuring the Freemen of Gwent and Angevins, wander a bustling medieval market, and climb the rarely-open Monnow Bridge gatehouse—Britain’s last surviving fortified bridge with its medieval gate tower still in place.
Meet birds of prey during live falconry displays by Wye Valley Falconry, learn about medieval medicine and costume, and try your hand at origami with British Origami Society expert Tony O’Hare. The festival culminates with A Knight’s Tale at the charming Savoy Theatre (£7 adults, under 15s free) .
Free to attend (market goods sold separately), this is a truly immersive festival set against the stunning backdrop of Monmouthshire and the Brecon Beacons | Bannau Brycheiniog.
