Dog Friendly Places to Stay in the Brecon Beacons

The Brecon Beacons National Park is the dream location for you and your four legged friend 🐕 And there is plenty of dog friendly accommodation to make sure everyone has the most welcoming stay possible!

Brecon Retreat

We know it's a joy to holiday with our pets but it's not always easy to find a great self catering place to stay. At Brecon Retreat you don't sacrifice staying in a stylish place for the sake of your "best friend". They lovingly welcome up to 2 dogs (or 3 small breed) and are in a rural location – numerous dog walks straight from the door. There's an enclosed area in garden to hip height, with warm running water outside for cleaning muddy paws & bellies! Welcome treat basket on arrival, with Luxury memory foam mattress with blankets & towels provided. Sofa throws provided. Dog crate provided upon request. All we kindly ask is that doggies to stay on ground-floor. Freezer available for dogs on a raw diet. Frozen dog food can also be pre-ordered ready the lodge for your arrival. There is a one-off charge of £20 per dog, per stay.

Trericket River Cabin

River Cabin, a traditional stone building with eco credentials, is set in an old cider orchard overlooking the mill stream. It sleeps up to 4 in a cosy bunkroom with bunk beds & a double futon.  There is a kitchen/lounge area, sunny dining porch, patio & private garden with picnic table, fire pit and BBQ. The price includes heating, hot water, showers, WiFi & use of bike store. From Easter – October a small camp-site is operated alongside the cabin. Love dogs and have an enclosed garden which is secure for dogs and charge £8 per dog per stay.

Madog Barn

Nestling in the beautiful Crai Valley in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Madog Barn is a recently converted 18th Century barn renovated to the highest standards using quality materials. Accommodation includes entrance hallway to living area and kitchen. Oak spiral staircase leads up to an open balcony with two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a bathroom with bath and shower.

The Neuadd Cottages

The Neuadd holiday cottages are located 5 mins drive from Crickhowell's great pubs, cafes, and shops in the Brecon Beacons in South Wales. Our self catering accommodation is easily accessible from good roads yet tucked away in a beautiful and quiet location enjoying open views of The Sugar Loaf, Table Mountain and Llangattock Mountain (all three can be walked from the door). There are canal and riverside walks from the door and if you're cyclists like us then there are excellent road and mountain bike rides close by. All are non-smoking, some accept dogs by arrangement whilst in some pets are not allowed.

The Borderers Guesthouse

The Borderers Guesthouse have 2 dog friendly rooms, situated around the central courtyard/carpark, that offer easy access and quiet surroundings away from the street. Please do let us know if you have any special requirements before booking. We will do our very best to make your stay as special as possible.

The Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains are a dog's dream, so choose one of our cottages which is dog friendly (subject to the the requirements set out in our Terms and Conditions). Make sure you check how many dogs the cottage takes before you book it either by calling the office on 01874 676446 or by checking the property pages. We charge £20 per dog per booking, but there are a few extra special pet-friendly properties who allow dogs for free! Find their dog friendly properties here.

Winnies Hayloft

Winnies Hayloft sits on the brow of the hill in Bwlch on the road between Brecon and Crickhowell. There are large sky-lights with lovely views across the valley to Llangynidr Mountain and down towards Crickhowell. There is an excellent circular walk for you and your dog to enjoy, starting from Bwlch and walking around Llangorse Lake.

Glanusk Lodge

Glanusk Lodge is sunny and light with plenty of space inside and out.  There are expansive lawns for games of cricket or croquet, and many private, quiet spots to lie down and read that book! Guests are welcome to bring up to 2 well behaved dogs for £5 per dog per day, which must be restricted to the kitchen and utility areas.

Glanpant Bach

In the heart of the National Park, ideally situated for cycling and hiking,
Glanpant Bach provides self-catering accommodation for four. Glanpant is dog friendly, with great local walks and the local pub, the New Inn, welcomes dogs too

Cwtch Farm Bed and Breakfast-Upper Swansea Valley

Dog friendly Bed and Breakfast. Rooms from £40 per person per night including breakfast and afternoon tea. Special Offer – All rooms £65 per night Monday to Thursday from 30th July 2018 until 23rd August 2018 (based on 2 people sharing). Dogs stay for free during this period.  They currently have availability throughout the festive period.

Basel Cottage Holidays

Basel Cottage Holidays-Bench Buddies Club

The Star Bunkhouse

The Star Bunkhouse in the village of Bwlch is an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. You can expect a warm and comfortable stay in our self-catering bunkhouse.  We have spacious bedrooms, (including an en-suite family room), cosy lounge and dining areas, a fully-equipped kitchen, an outside BBQ area, hot showers, drying room, free wi-fi and off-road parking. is dog friendly, Private bedrooms or exclusive use. £5 per dog per night. The Arches at Baileys Barn

Aberhyddnant Farm Cottages

Two comfortable cottages on a working family organic farm, where animals and nature abound. Merryfields Barn

Merryfields Barn is 5-star self-catering accommodation in Llangattock, Crickhowell, in the Brecon Beacons National Park, with stunning views of nearby Crickhowell, The River Usk and The Black Mountains. Built in 2009, this self-catering barn is in a peaceful, rural location near the attractive village of Llangattock (voted by Sunday Times one of Britain’s 10 greenest communities and top 50 Best Places to live in UK). At the rear of the property, French doors open onto a large patio area, a paddock with a stream and views to Llangattock escarpment. To the front is an orchard, lawned area, mature trees and fabulous views – a little touch of paradise! They are very dog-friendly with about 70% of guests bringing their dogs with them! More here.

Llwyn Llwyd Farm Cottage and Ty Glo Cottage

Llwyn Llwyd Farm Cottage has 4 bedrooms situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park Log fire Dog friendly. Free WiFi plenty of parking for several cars. Ty Glo Cottage also onsite which sleeps up to 5 and accepts one dog or 2 small dogs enclosed garden. Can be booked together to sleep 13. 3 acre field attached
