1. Father and Son Adventure Breaks

Adventure Britain have  come up with a Summer activity break during the school holidays just for father and sons set in the stunning natural adventure playground, the Brecon Beacons National Park. 2. Bear Grylls Survival Academy- 24 Hour Family Course

A combination of survival skills and adventure tasks that will put families to the test. Designed to inspire fathers and sons, mothers and daughters alike, this 24-hour outdoor adventure has been created by Bear Grylls and his close team of experts, and is delivered by a range of hand-picked instructors at various locations across the UK, each with their own challenges of woodland, heath and water. In parent and child teams, you’ll learn Bear’s famous survival techniques: how to build and light a fire, how to navigate at night, foraging for grubs and rodents, water purification, building a shelter, extreme weather survival and river crossings, and the best ways to use a knife for survival. On day two, you’ll put these skills into action, following Bear’s ethos of self-rescue, by crossing difficult terrain back to captivity. 3. Sheep Trekking in the Brecon Beacons

Will LewisThe Good Day Out Sheep Trek, as featured on Countryfile, is excellent for the whole family, and is far more fun than your average walk in the hills. You can walk your very own especially trained Jacob sheep, fitted with it’s own halter and lead. Your sheep will then lead you along a scenic trek along ancient drover’s routes, taking you towards the Black Mountain with incredible views towards Pen Y Fan and the central Beacons. Around half way, you and your sheep will be treated to a snack picnic in a barn with a view. During the whole experience, you can chat with your farming host who will be happy to talk about life on their 200 acre organic Welsh Hill Farm, and you will also see quiet a few other animals along the way including horses, cattle, hens, ducks and dogs. We are lucky to have Theatr Brycheiniog on our doorsteps who have lots of different shows to take your dad along to.  What about enjoying lots of free, live music at their Waterfront Cafe, browsing through photos at their rally exhibition or enjoying some comedy with Tim Key: Megadate.

6. Dad's go free at Cantref Adventure Farm

Come and enjoy a fabulous Father’s Day here at Cantref Adventure Farm and the best news is that Dad comes in free of charge! 8. Visit the Birds of Prey at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales

Set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside, the Garden is a fascinating blend of the modern and historic. Here you’ll find an inspiring range of themed gardens, the world’s largest single-span glasshouse, our new tropical Butterfly House, play areas and a national nature reserve, all set in a Regency landscape which provides the stage for a packed programme of events and courses throughout the year. If your dad appreciates a good book, then Hay-on-Wye is a must visit this father day!  Hay on Wye is uniquely positioned on the border of Wales and England and is home to around 30 bookshops. Home to the Hay Literary Festival, bringing around 80,000 writers publishers and literature fans from all across the world to this small market town in South East Powys at the end of May each year. 10. Explore the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal

Meandering through the Welsh countryside, the isolated Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal is the most popular attraction in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park. It is one of our most beautiful and peaceful waterways following the line of the lovely wooded Usk Valley, it is a true hidden gem. Why not hire a boat for all the family to enjoy?
