By d.marsden on 14/12/2013

We all get carried away shopping, eating, drinking and buying during the festive season but how about helping others? If you need  to start thinking about your New Year's resolutions, here are 3 small ways to be charitable in the Brecon Beacons in  2014...

1. Good Day Outthis activity provider encourage interesting, educational and fun ways for people to easily engage with good causes whilst helping them to raise money for specific projects. The concept is similar to buying a goat for a deserving community, but in this happy instance, you also get to play with the goat.

Examples of their wide range of activities include hedgehog nursing, trying your hand at hedge laying or spring cleaning the countryside, or simply try a new hobby by horse riding or doing pottery and many more. These activities help a variety of causes such as Ty Hafan Hospice, the Long Forest Project and the Royal Air Forces Association - pick from the list depending on what feels right for you! Have a Good Day Out whilst learning new skills, having fun and knowing you've helped others at the same time!
