Hands-on throwing, small-group workshops and Jess Rayner's characterful ceramics bring the creative experience at this Libanus studio to life.
Beacons Pottery is the working studio of ceramicist Jess Rayner, based on a farm at Libanus near Brecon. Jess creates hand-carved ceramics individually and also welcomes adults into the studio for pottery lessons, creative workshops and small-group experiences.
Current choices include a private one-to-one throwing lesson, a two-person throwing experience, themed workshops and a six-week handbuilding course. Online booking shows the available dates and exact inclusions, while gift vouchers can be purchased and redeemed through the official website.
Group handbuilding and combined handbuilding-and-throwing experiences are designed for four to six adults. Participants make and decorate their own pieces, which are glazed, fired and delivered after the session under the current booking terms.
Participants must be over 18. The studio is described as wheelchair accessible and Jess can adapt a lesson to different needs when told in advance; however, there is currently no wheelchair-accessible toilet. Visitors should contact the studio before booking if that limitation or another access requirement may affect their session.
The farm is reached by a single-track country lane and the postcode may stop at a neighbouring property, so follow the business's current arrival directions. Use the main button to compare lessons, workshops, vouchers and live availability.
