We are so proud of the Brecon Beacons National Park being one of only five Dark Sky Reserves in the world that there’s now a stargazing festival too!

An expert from the University of South Wales will be putting on a 3D show about the solar system and what to expect when you gaze up at those Brecon Beacons skies. (£10.00)

Observe the Night Sky Over Hay Bluff
Come and enjoy the stars from one of the best spots in the National Park with phenomenal views over Hay-on-Wye and the Black Mountains. (£12.00)

Solar Workshop
You don’t have to wait till sunset to enjoy the constellations - come and join experts who will teach you how to find Venus in daylight! (Free)

A wonderful opportunity to marvel at the photos taken by the experts of our glorious dark skies and learn some practical advice and tips if you’re a budding photographer yourself! (£10.00)

Don’t be put off by the word ‘lecture’ as with David Griffiths this event is sure to be equally entertaining as it is educational. (£10.00)

Mark Kerr on Astronomy and Navigation
Local expert Mark Kerr will lead a talk on the history of astro-navigation and the instruments used with practical examples using high tech equipment. (£10.00) 

There’s also a festival exhibition on at The Swan at Hay throughout the weekend with displays from groups and businesses involved in astronomy and the Dark Skies project. (Free)
