The Brecon Town Open Studios project started last year and the concept’s second outing takes place over two days this June. It’s an expanded collection of locally based artists this year but the rules are the same. Look out for leaflets around Brecon publicising the event, follow the map and start knocking on doors (of some historic houses).
It’s a chance to buy art directly from the artist and speak to them about their work and inspiration. Visitors might even get a piece of cake and a cup of tea (cash donations will go to The Friends of Brecon & District MIND).
Artists include Sue Hiley-Harris, Veronica Gibson, Tessa Waite, Sean Crawford, Kathryn Roberts, Hilda Benham, Graeme Galvin, Roy Powell and the newly formed Vaults Artist Studios, housed in the Queen’s Vaults beneath Brecon Market Hall, which includes Velvet Cole, Gemma Schiebe, Karin Mear, Nigel Evans, Sarah Powell, Harriet Rowlands and Angharad Pickering.
Brecon Town Open Studios 2017 takes place on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 June, 12 noon until 7pm.
