Brecon Market Hall is stepping into a new chapter this December, thanks to a revitalisation project led by Antur Cymru. This initiative aims to bring fresh energy to the historic market space, support small businesses, and encourage more local trade in the run-up to Christmas.
The next Friday markets will take place on 12 December and 19 December, running from 9am to 4pm — ideal for shoppers looking for festive gifts, local food, seasonal produce or something a little different from independent traders.
To help attract new stallholders, Antur Cymru is offering a no-charge introductory period for tables and pitches. It’s a great opportunity for makers, growers, small retailers and start-ups across Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) to test the market without upfront cost.

As one of Wales’s oldest market towns, Brecon has a long tradition of lively trading days. This winter pilot is designed to reconnect that heritage with today’s local economy — supporting businesses, attracting shoppers, and building momentum for a stronger Friday market in the new year.
Whether you’re a trader or a visitor, it’s an ideal time to be part of the revival.
