Festival Highlights for 2025

This year’s programme is packed with legendary artists, rising stars, and unique performances across multiple stages. Venues include the iconic Market Hall, the intimate Muse Arts Centre, and the historic Brecon Guildhall – each offering its own distinct feel and musical flavour.

  • Cleveland Watkiss – The Great Jamaican Songbook
    The acclaimed UK jazz vocalist opens the festival on Friday with a soulful celebration of Jamaica’s musical heritage. Expect an evening of rhythm, storytelling and powerful vocals.

  • Ruby Turner – Soul & Gospel Powerhouse
    Known for her soaring voice and dynamic stage presence, Ruby Turner headlines Saturday night with a mix of soul, gospel, and R&B. An unforgettable performance from one of the UK’s most loved vocalists.

  • Jazz Sabbath – Rock Meets Jazz
    Black Sabbath meets modal jazz as Adam Wakeman leads this inventive trio in reimagining classic rock anthems. A genre-defying finale to the weekend on Sunday evening.

  • Soweto Kinch – Jazz Innovator
    Multiple MOBO Award winner Soweto Kinch brings his boundary-pushing blend of jazz and hip hop to Brecon. Expect sharp lyricism, slick sax, and serious stage presence.

  • Global Meets Local
    International acts like Dutch trumpeter Saskia Laroo share the stage with new UK talent including BBC Young Jazz Musician Ursula Harrison and vocalist Silvey Noble.

  • Young Artists Stage
    Discover fresh sounds from the next generation of jazz on the new Bishops Garden Young Artists Stage – a peaceful outdoor setting showcasing the UK’s most exciting emerging talent.

The full weekend programme features everything from classic swing and bebop to Latin grooves, modern fusion, and world rhythms. With shows running in parallel across the town, visitors can create a festival experience that suits them – from headline sets to hidden gems.

Weekend passes and individual tickets are available, but with limited capacity at key venues, early booking is advised.
