Brecon Farmers Market takes place in Brecon's historical Market Hall on the second Saturday every month but in December there are two dates, Saturday 12 and Sunday 20 December, giving an extra opportunity to stock up on top quality local foods, purchase/order Christmas meat and poultry, cakes and puddings and discover the perfect foodie gifts.South Powys Youth Music

There will also be a Christmas raffle, with the chance to win a selection of food donated by the producers.

Foodie presents are always a success and many of the producers make up hampers and selections of their most popular items, such as this Gourmet Gardener Hamper. The Gourmet Gardener Hamper
Dà Mhìle Distillery gin .jpgChristmas Ales from Brecon Brewing and cider from Pip's Cider will also be on sale, along with spirits distilled at Dà Mhìle Distillery in the Teifi Valley – again these would be well received on Christmas Day (or enjoyed before of course).

Brecon farmers Market is renowned for its cheeses, fresh local meat, charcuterie, olives, pickles and butter  and Cradocs SavourElla Thomas Cradocs savoury Biscuits.jpgy Biscuits will be at the market on Sunday 20th December with the perfect accompaniment to all of these. They will be launching a new flavour on the day so do come along and have a taste.

Caroline's Real Bread Company specialises in making breads from around the world. Old favourites like granary and wholemeal are complimented by more exotic flavours from as far a field as the mediterranean, the new world and the middle east.  They often sell out so it's best to get there early.

Although Brecon Farmers Market is a food market local craftspeople can often be found there, and woodturner Harry Chapman from Talybont makes breadboards, bowls, cheese boards and more, any of which would make wonderful Christmas gifts or additions to a hamper of selected foods from Brecon Farmers Market.

Brecon Farmers Market is open 9:30am - 2pm.
