Nestling at the northeast end of the park Hay on Wye is famous for its bookshops and its international literary festival. Hay Dark Skies Festival is back for its second year held between the 17th and 19th April 2015.
The town will play host to UK observers and the interested public, offering a range of activities from safe Solar Observing, a Planetarium experience, to displays and night time observing in the company of experts.
All this and a plethora of accessible lectures, activities and of course, the cozy comforts of local hotels, B&Bs and Hay’s superlative bookshops and pubs.
Perfect way to spend a weekend. For more information or to book tickets go to Hay Dark Skies website
This exciting event will be held on Friday 24th April in Trecastle, situated about 14 miles west of Brecon in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
There will be all sorts of lovely free activities for all ages, but we are delighted to have Dark Sky Wales’ fantastic planetarium show, a guest speaker and loads of activities, so even if the weather is not behaving it will still be fun and educational.
As the planetarium only holds 30 people, there will be three shows starting at 5.30, 6.15 and 7pm. The shows last 30 minutes, but you need to turn up at least 15 minutes beforehand. To book your place go here
