We've all gone baking mad in the Brecon Beacons thanks to the wonderful new ITV show, Britain's Best Bakery where Talgarth Mill competed against St. Mary's Bakery !
We're feeling inspired so here is our TOP FIVE BAKERIES and places to eat to the best bakers in the National Park. From buns to bread to cakes to tray bakes, we dare you to get to the end of this blog without dashing out to satisfy your sweet tooth.
1. The Baker's Table, Talgarth Mill
The famous Baker's Table from the show itself! The mill offer a 'Miller's Experience' where guests can learn to bake their own bread and they also sell their own flour and kits to try yourself. If you're feeling peckish don't miss their hearty homemade soups with - you guessed it - Talgarth Mill bread on the side and grab a flapjack for pudding.

2. St. Mary's Bakery, Brecon
Generations of Brecon locals have flocked to this bakery for years to pick up some of the tastiest treats in the National Park. Visitors will be pleasantly surprised by the jam donuts, along with pasties and pies that make one of the most delicious snacks around. Customers usually end-up with more than they expect when they visit this bakery with an overwhelming selection of cream cakes. St Mary’s Bakery should always be top of any shoppers list on places to go to whilst in Brecon!

3. Askews Family Bakery, Crickhowell
This family-run bakery have mastered simple, traditional baked goods. School children flock up town during lunch, so make sure you get there quick before they gobble it all. Their Chelsea buns are a favourite or for a local speciality you can't go wrong with a Bara brith.

4. Iechyd Da, Llandovery
These are the true experts on artisan bread in the National Park with a whole range depending on your favourite loaf. Choose from gorgeous granaries to readymade rye or even pizzas with delicious toppings.

5. Clams Cakes, Abergavenny
Although technically not a bakery, we couldn't leave out For the Love of Cake who should be your first port of call for anything unashamedly sweet and sticky. They have fans nationwide and their cakes are ordered online from all around the UK. See for yourself in their little cafe with a slice of their award-winning Almond Sticky Cake or their Orange & Ginger Cake.
