Brecon will be coming alive over the week with art, music, workshops and demonstrations taking place all over the town for the Brecon Arts Festival 2015
Brecon and the Brecon Beacons are known the world over as a place of outstanding natural beauty: Mountains, Cairns, Cwms, Lakes, Waterfalls and ancient Woodlands all sit side by side in a constantly evolving landscape that is over 500 million years old. The lure of this tranquil, turbulent, verdant, desolate place of astonishing contrasts to the creative soul is obvious.
Today, a whole host of eminent artists, craftspeople, writers, poets and musicians call it and it's environs homeand with it’s own Theatre, Cinema, Cathedral, Independent Bookshop and streets of independently owned shops and boutiques housed in historic Tudor, Jacobean and Georgian buildings it is a worthy focal point for the creative arts in Mid Wales.
'Brecon Arts Festival 2015’ is a whole week of Arts events taking place in the beautiful market town over the October half term break. It showcases the very best from the vast array of artists, galleries, and cultural enterprises that Brecon has to offer and is delivered by 'Artbeat Brecon' - a group of Brecon based businesses and artists working together to positively promote the unique galleries and cultural enterprises within the town each Autumn. This annual celebration of the Arts is now in it’s sixth year.
Exhibitions, Classes, Workshops, Demonstrations, Mask making, Pottery, Glass making, Glass blowing, Jewellery making, Drawing, Craft, Sewing, and much more await you in these tawny hills this Autumn.
Festival programmes will be available at participating venues and other outlets across town soon. For further information please visit: www.artbeatbrecon.org/events2015
