Abergavenny Hosts its First Jazz Festival!

Abergavenny's first wall2wall Jazz Festival starts this Saturday. Marquees have started going up and the weather forecast is looking great! There has been huge demand for tickets so make sure you don't miss out, but if you're still not convinced check out the free events that are going on too...
The festival kicks off on Saturday morning at 10.15am with a free event that aims to convince jazz sceptics to get involved - 'Jazz Through the Ages' is a tour of the many styles of jazz that have evolved over the last 100 years and are still with us today. The tour will be presented by the amazing Brass Jaw, voted two years ago as 'Ensemble of the Year' at the Parliamentary Jazz

Awards. We can expect a performance that is truly unique with their trademark momentum, drive and charisma.

On Sunday morning at 10.15am the festival will host its second free event with the New Era Reborn Brass Band. Bringing together some of the best jazz musicians in South Wales get prepared for a festival special, with

upbeat funky street music that brings alive the carnival spirit of early New Orleans.

So come along and see what you think - two fantastic events open to all that the whole family can enjoy.
