One of the UK’s leading food events returns this autumn as the Abergavenny Food Festival takes over the town on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2025. Set against the backdrop of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, the festival brings together chefs, producers, writers and food lovers for a weekend filled with flavour, inspiration and community spirit.

Since its beginnings in 1999, the festival has built a reputation as a must-visit event, drawing thousands of visitors every year. Across the weekend, streets and venues in Abergavenny come alive with markets, masterclasses, tastings and talks. More than a shopping experience, it’s a celebration of ideas, sustainability and the future of food.

Highlights for 2025 include:

  • Street markets with hundreds of artisan producers
  • Live cookery demonstrations from leading chefs
  • Tastings, debates and panel discussions with food writers and experts
  • Family activities and hands-on workshops
  • Evening events in unique venues across the town

The festival champions local produce from Wales alongside international flavours, making it a true showcase of diversity and creativity in food and drink. It’s a major highlight in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park events calendar and a perfect day out for food lovers of all ages.
