A special literary evening is coming to Crickhowell this April as two writers with strong connections to Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park come together for a thought-provoking conversation on climate, community and storytelling.
On Tuesday 14 April, award-winning author Ben Rawlence will appear at Book-ish Loft in Crickhowell to discuss his new book Think Like a Forest: Letters to My Children from a Changing Planet, in conversation with local writer Tom Bullough.
The event brings together two voices closely connected to the area. Ben Rawlence is the founder and director of Black Mountains College in Talgarth, an innovative institution focused on climate action and sustainable futures.
Tom Bullough, who will chair the evening, is also locally based and lives in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). His writing frequently explores landscape, place and our relationship with the natural world.
Together, they bring both international perspective and deep local understanding to discussions about how communities can respond to environmental change.
Rawlence’s latest book reflects on how we talk to future generations about climate change, blending personal reflections with wider environmental thinking. His work is known for combining research with powerful storytelling to explore how people adapt to global challenges.
Bullough, author of several novels and the acclaimed non-fiction work Sarn Helen, is recognised for writing that connects Welsh landscapes, history and contemporary environmental questions.
The evening promises an engaging and accessible discussion for anyone interested in nature, literature, climate issues or simply hearing two thoughtful local voices in conversation.
